My wife and I recently took a thrilling road trip to this picturesque village on a Royal Enfield, and the experience was nothing short of magical.

Some parts of the road were tough — steep, rocky, and narrow — but the thrill of riding through such terrain together made the journey even more special.
There were moments we had to slow down and navigate carefully, but the stunning scenery around every corner made every bump worth it. Rolling green hills, terraced fields, hanging bridges, and snow-capped peaks played peek-a-boo along the route.
Welcome to Ghandruk – A Himalayan Wonderland
After hours of riding, we finally reached Ghandruk, a charming mountain village located at an altitude of about 2,000 meters (6,600 feet) in the Kaski District of Gandaki Province. It’s one of the most popular trekking stops on the Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) route, and for good reason.
As soon as we parked the bike and took off our helmets, we were welcomed by the crisp mountain air, the warm smiles of the locals, and a view that could make your heart skip a beat — the majestic Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and Machapuchare (Fishtail) peaks, standing tall and proud just beyond the rooftops.
Where We Stayed – Peace, Comfort, and a View
We stayed in a cozy homestay for two nights, surrounded by traditional Gurung architecture — stone houses with slate roofs, flower-filled courtyards, and warm, welcoming hosts. The nights were chilly, but the hospitality was heartwarming. Waking up to a sunrise over the snow-covered mountains was one of the most peaceful moments of our trip.
